Magil Construction takes on tech to enhance collaboration across projects
After using the same project management solution for the eight years, Magil Construction realized it was time to move to a platform the enabled collaboration. The company turned to Procore — a cloud-based construction software management platform — to streamline solutions and help standardize processes across its increasingly global operations.

Magil is a private Canadian company performing services in buildings, civil, industrial and interiors which provides a wide range of solutions and projects meeting the highest environmental and technological standards. With offices from coast to coast, and a culture of teamwork among all project stakeholders, Magil is continuously investing in technologies to optimize interdisciplinary collaboration and project execution, such as BIM-VDC.

"Magil Construction promotes partnership in all of its dealings,” says Alain Gauvin, president of the Quebec division. “We are convinced this pledge fosters growing bonds and elevates our effectiveness to resolve issues, tackle challenges and find innovative solutions benefiting all project stakeholders. The tools we use are purposely selected to reflect this approach.”

Procore’s Project Management solution enables collaboration through unrestricted seat licenses, which allows everyone — from the architect to subcontractors — to access and communicate on the same project from anywhere.

As a platform, Procore integrates with a growing list of solutions, which allows companies to use the best tools to fit their needs while connecting everything in one central location. Magil took advantage of Procore’s out-of-the-box integration with Sage 300 CRE, allowing the team to connect accounting and project management within the same environment.

With this real-time access to the latest financial information, the risk of costly errors due to double entry is eliminated, and project teams can make more accurate, informed decisions.

"We are always raising our collective knowledge and producing new and innovative methods through continuous improvement,” adds Gauvin. “A solution that enhances internal collaboration is an important step in that direction.”

Regardless of solution, construction companies need a platform that is constantly evolving to meet users’ needs and provide real-time access to data and collaboration between field and office.
